My great-great Uncle.

Son of Rev. Joel F. Tousley & Susanna McBride; grandson of John & Rebecca (Bishop) Tousley and Unknown McBride's born in Pennsylvania.

Uncle Albert enlisted in the Ohio Infantry at Kent, Portage Co., OH, about Jun 9, 1861, as a Sergeant/Private in Co F of the 7th regiment of the Ohio Vols. He was honorably discharged at Louisville, KY the Aug 2, 1865 at the close of the war.

During the war he was admitted to G.H. Fairfax Seminary near Alexandria, VA, Aug 18, 1862, for about 3 months with Erysipelas and returned to duty Jan 1863. He received a slight wound on the left cheek at the battle of Dallas, GA, on May 25, 1864. Entered Gov't Hosp for about five weeks at Chattanooga, TN, Jun 2, 1864 with G. S. flesh wound left thigh, was returned to duty Jun 7, 1864. He was wounded in left leg and right eye by explosion of a shell at Lost Mountain Jun 10, 1864.

He was 5 feet 6 inches tall, light complexion and light hair and blue eyes.

His first wife was Alice St. Clair. They were married Sept. 1865 in Akron by a Methodist minister. She died June l, 1870.

He married secondly to Mrs. Mary E. Clark, widow of W. C. Clark; marrying September 1, 1875 in Norfolk, Madison Co., NE. Her first husband was drowned in a slough near Oakdale (?) Nebraska. She died July 11, 1881.

He had one son, Albert Watson Tousley who was born Sep 24, 1876.

By 1892 Uncle Albert was in Idaho (age 48) where he applied for a pension.

Uncle Albert, Widower, aged 83, died at the Bristol Hotel, 10th and Grove, Boise, Idaho on Dec 27, 1927. Sadly, he was found dead in bed which was ruled natural causes, senility and chronic heart disease. No inquest was held.

He owned a cabin and mines in the Seven Devils Mining District for many years.
