My great-great Uncle.
Son of Rev. Joel F. Tousley & Susanna McBride; grandson of John & Rebecca (Bishop) Tousley and Unknown McBride's born in Pennsylvania.
In the War of the Rebellion, four brothers Joseph, Andrew (killed in battle), Albert, and Joel all served honorably.
Uncle Joel enlisted May 2, 1864 at Watson Station, Ohio as a Private at the age of 17, in Company H, 164th Infantry Regiment Ohio on 11 May 1864; mustered out on 27 Aug 1864 in Cleveland, OH.
In 1870 he was living in Akron, Summit Co., OH (maybe a rooming house in the city) working as a carpenter.
In May 1897 Uncle Joel made application for his pension from Coffee Co., TN at which time he swears: "I am not a married man. Never was married" He was living in Tullahoma, Franklin, Coffee Co., TN.
Uncle Joel lived only 55 years, 10 months, 4 days when the Lord called him unto Himself.
Many thanks for stone photo to Jody & Lesa Baltz, who first listed and graciously transferred memorial.
