"Henrietta Brown King, 100, Fredonia, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 1999, at a Yates Center nursing home.

She was born June 20, 1899, in Berwick, La., the daughter of Gerge Humphrey Brown and Theresa Thorguson. She graduated from Morgan City High School and attended business college and normal school. She graduated from St. Louis Institute of Music and taught private piano lessons for 60 years.

Mrs. King was a member of the Coyville United Methodist Church and she had been the church organist and musician.

She married Thomas Frederick King on Oct. 26, 1926, in Berwick, La. He preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1990. A son, Thomas Brooks King, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, The Rev. Jack T. King, Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Carol Jean Vorhees, Fredonia; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center. Burial will be at the Coyville Cemetery in Coyville. Relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center."
