Captain Jacob Leonard married Mary Swift on December 4,1788 in Bridgewater Mass.

Enlisted in the Revolutionary War on May 1.1775,enlisting in Captain James Allens' company, Colonal John Bailey's Massachusetts regiment and and continued in the service on Feb.27,1782, was commissioned,and served in Colonel Ebnezer Sprouts' second regiment until 1783. He was granteda pension on his application dated March 30,1818, at which time he stated that he was living in Plymouth Mass aged 60 yrs.
The pension due was granted to the following children,
LEVI W. LEONARD residing in DUBLIN NEW HAMPSHIRE and
ISAM OR ISHAM LEONARD in BRIDGEWATER MASS. aged 50 years.
