Pastor of Three Springs Methodist Church

The Rev. Bernard A Flegal died at 5pm of heart attack at the parsonage of the Grace United Methodist Church, Three Springs, Pa., where he was pastor. Rev. Flegal was born at Allport, the son of Lemuel and Elfa (Fuge) Flegal. He was married in 1938 to the former Irene Smeal of Summit Hill. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a graduate of Morris Township High School and of Saint Paul Bible Institute at St. Paul, Minn. He had served pastorships at Providence, R.I., Houlton, Maine, New Paris and Morgan Run. He is survived by his wife, two daughters; Mrs Charles (Sharen) Huntsman, Three Springs; and Dorothy at home. On grandchild, one brother and five sisters also survive; Orvis Flegal, Allport; Mrs Clarice Maurer, Niagra Falls, N.y., Mrs Dorothy Custo, Reading; Mrs Irene Woods, Morrisdale; Mrs Helen Robison, McKeesport and Mrs. Jean Wisnewski, Hackettstown, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant daughters and one brother. Funeral service will be held in the Grace United Methodist Church, Three Springs, Friday morning at 10:30 am with the Rev. Orville Warner officiating. Friends may call at the Ott Funeral Home Wednesday and Thursday. After the service Friday, a viewing will be held in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church, and services conduected by Rev. Homer Smith will be held at 3pm. Interment will be in the Allport Cemetery.
