"Rev. Daniel Jackson, son of Daniel and Abigail (Merrill) Jackson, was born in Madison, New Hampshire, Oct 12, 1804. He received his early religious impressions from Rev. John Colby, and was converted under the labors of Rev. J. Woodman in 1818. He was ordained at East Ossipee, N.H., Sept. 14, 1826. His pastorates have been E. Ossipee (five years), Wheelock, VT (two yrs), Topsham (four yrs), Meredith Village, N.H., Lewiston Falls, ME, Charleston, Mass, Topsham, ME, Saco, South Berwick, Lyndon Centre, VT. and Gardiner City, ME.
After 1854, he traveled in the South, and returning, became pastor at Wells, ME. In November 1857, he setled as pastor of the Providence church at Wright's Corners, Ind. In these pastorates he has been usually successful. At Topsham as a result of one revival ninety-six were baptized. He has been active in the general denominational work, having served in the General Conferences of 1827, 1841, and 1880, the centennial meeting.

He was married to Miss Mary P. Kenneson, Sept. 20, 1827, and after her death, to Miss Hannah B. Fernald in 1853, and again bereaved, to Mrs. Clara Hewes, in 1857, with whom, after a long life of usefulness he is passing the remaining years at Varysburgh, N.Y. He has two children living and two have died."
