George (Burton) Pearson, age 70, of 2179 Benevola Road, died September 20, 2001, Gordo at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Forest Baptist Church in Benevola . Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Craft Pearson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Sue Pearson, Benevola; daughter, Phyllis P. Portwood (Tom) of Northport; son, John Pearson (Suzanne) of Benevola; step-sons, Jeff Mason (Janet) of New Orleans, La., and Clifton Mason (Carol) of Trussville; step-daughter, Barbara Love (Rusty) of Birmingham; brother, Hance W. Pearson (Lillie Lou) of Carrollton; grandchildren, Neely Pearson, Ivy Pearson, Will Portwood, Jo Anna Portwood, Eleanor Portwood and Sydney Pearson; seven step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
