Death Of Ex-Confederate.
Member of Sixth Virginia Cavalry Dies at Soldiers' Home.
Richmond, May 10 - After an illness of about two weeks Samuel Vaughn Corbell, an inmate of the Soldiers' Home, died at the home at 6 o'clock yesterday morning.
Mr. Corbell lived in Gloucester county, where for a number of years he was deputy clerk of the court. His wife, who was Miss Agnes Thurston died some years ago.
During the civil war Mr. Corbell served in company I, Sixth Virginia Cavalry, Mahone's Brigade and served with great gallantry.
The body will be taken to Gloucester for burial in the family plot at Abington Church.
Mr. Corbell was seventy-one years old. He is survived by three sons – Robert T., of Richmond; Edward T., of Norfolk, and Julian C., of Gloucester.
