George L. Schrimpf (Schrimpt) was a Confederate Soldier during the American Civil War, 1861 to 1866.
He enlisted as a Private in the Palmetto Riflemen on April 14th, 1861, at Anderson, South Carolina, for one years service, and was mustered into Confederate service as a Private in Company B of the 4th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry Regiment on June 7th, 1861, at Columbia, South Carolina. He re-enlisted as a Private in Company C of the Palmetto Sharpshooters Regiment, South Carolina Volunteers, in April 1862, near Orange Courthouse, Virginia, for three years or the war, and served with the regiment throughout its term of service. He surrendered on April 9th, 1865, and was paroled on April 10th, 1865, at Appomattox, Virginia.
