Joe Oliver Echols, Sr., 80 of Doraville, died Sunday, May 29, 2011.
He was born in Spartanburg, SC, the son of the late Leon F. Echols, Sr. and Julia Miller Echols.
Joe was a retired Senior Engineer for A T & T. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. A member of Tucker First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the C.O.M.E.T. Sunday School class.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Jo Echols of Doraville; his daughters, Sharon Hull and her husband Dave of Adelphi, Maryland, Wendy Mason and her husband Mike of Carrollton; His son, Joe O. Echols, Jr. and his wife Susan, of Watkinsville, GA; his grandchildren, Joanna Hull, Matthew Hull, Joshua Echols, Hannah Echols, Abbey Mason, Mallory Mason, and Will Mason; his brothers, Leon F. Echols, Jr. and John T. Echols both of Warner Robins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Tucker First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Moor and Dr. Mike Cash officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home.
