Asa Moore enlisted at Prince George's Co. Maryland in April or May 1778. He served as a Private in Captain Boyd's third Regiment and Captain Thomas Price's and Lynn's Cos. under Colonels Peter Adam's and John Stewart's Maryland Regiments. He was with the Maryland Line when they marched through Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. He was in the battle of Stony Point Maryland. and was discharged at Annapolis in 1783.
He was granted a pension on September 27, 1832 and died in Posey County, Indiana on September 20, 1834 and is buried in the Reeves Cemetery, Robb Twp. Posey County, Indiana.
He was the son of Peter and Esther Soper Moore.
Asa married Elizabeth Thomas on March 08, 1791 at St. John's Church, Piscataway, Prince Georges County, Maryland.
They had four children: Alexander, Thomas, Lucy and Nancy.
