Johnny E. Temple
Birth: Aug. 8, 1927
Death: Jan. 9, 1994

He was a four time All-Star second baseman for the Cincinnati Reds. His career started in 1952 and lasted for thirteen seasons. After the 1959 season he was traded around to Cleveland, Baltimore, Houston and back to the Reds in 1964. After his retirement from baseball he worked as a sportscaster for KHOU-TV in Houston. (bio by: Ron Moody)

On this date 59 years ago -- July 14, 1955 -- Johnny Temple went 5 for 7, all singles, scored two runs and drove in three as the Cincinnati Reds pounded the Pittsburgh Pirates 19-1 at Forbes Field.
