Chris was born April 18, 1924, in Cambridge, England, the daughter of Sydney Wilderspin and Kate Lee Witt Wilderspin. She proudly served with the Royal Observer Corps during World War II. She met her husband, Glade, at a USO dance. They were married March 22, 1945, in St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, in Cambridge. They returned at Iowa after the war.
Chris loved golf and playing bridge with her "GNO" friends. She loved entertaining. Chris spent many happy weekends in Guttenberg, on the Mississippi, with their family and friends. She served for 20 years on the Altar Guilds of St. John's and Christ Church Episcopal. Chris and her family are very grateful to the wonderful nurses and aides of Cedar Rapids Hospice of Mercy for their excellent care and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Courageous.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
