Arthur was the son of Catherine (Kasmira Szymczak) and Joseph Slawinski. He had 4 sisters/brothers; Alex, Florence, Henry Slawinski (infant death) and Harry Slavinski
After his mother died, Arthur's father married Helen (Krzyzostanski) Babinski and her 5 children became Arthur's step sister/brothers; William Babbin, Mary, Jennie, Florence and Walter Babinski.
He married Marguerite (Norris) and they had 5 children: Marlene (Tom), Arthur (Sharon), Deborah, Rebecca (William) Ols, Robert (Shelli), 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
He was drafted during WWII and served with Company L, 10th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division, 3d Army under Gen. George Patton in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater. He was severely wounded at the Moselle River Crossing 13 September 1944 in France and was awarded a Purple Heart. Dad is listed on the National WWII Memorial data base, Washington D.C. He retired from The Mansfield Tire & Rubber Co with 30 yrs of service.
He loved gardening and he shared the bounty of his garden with family and friends.
