Son of Abram and Ida Josephine Leavitt Hatch.

Valgean, the nineteen year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Abram Hatch buried in Bountiful.

The remains of Valgean, the nineteen year old son of Abram and Ida Leavitt Hatch of Salt Lake City, were laid to rest in the Bountiful cemetery, Thursday. The young man passed away Monday night.

He had been suffering with leakage of the heart for about twelve years, as the result of having had scarlet fever, which left him an invalid. Notwithstanding his condition, he desired to obtain an education and was attending the high school until about ten days before his demise when he took cold which terminated as above stated.

The Oregon Short Line Co. ran an engine and two coaches to Bountiful to bring the relatives and friends of the departed out from the city and to take them back. The father had been a faithful engineer on that road for a great many years until a short time ago when he badly injured his shoulder in a wreck south of Woods Cross. He has not yet recovered from that accident.

Thirty-five vehicles accompanied the remains from the depot to the cemetery.

The funeral services were held in the Seventeenth ward in Salt Lake City.
