George is the son of John Delmar Massey, Sr. and Cynthia Frances (Jarrell) Massey. He married Elizabeth Maud (Orgill) Massey, September 19, 1906 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
They had 11 children:

Funeral services for George O. Massey, 76, were conducted Wednesday of last week in the Naples Ward Chapel. he died Sunday, August 29 at 1:30 p.m. in Uintah County hospital after a long illness.
Prayer at the mortuary was offered by DeVere Carroll. Prelude and postlude music was played by Mrs. Jerry Carroll.
Opening prayer was by Ralph Olsen followed by remarks by Bishop Orlo Goodrich. The Naples choir sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives," and the first speaker was Harmon S. Sowards. Kathy Cundick rendered a violin solo "A Perfect Day, accompanied by Dorothy Jolley.
Second speaker was LaVell Manwaring and the closing song was a vocal duet "Lead Me Gently Home" by Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Caldwell accompanied by Kathy Caldwell. Closing prayer was offered by Birchell Goodrich.
Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery with dedication of the grave by Van Massey. Pallbearers were his six ons, George O Massey, Jr., Ira W. Massey, Farrel A. Massey, Floyd L. Massey, Julian A. Massey and Valda D. Massey.
He was born October 14, 1883 in Boone County, West Virginia to John D. and Cynthia Jarrell Massey. He spent his early life in Colorado and moved to Utah at the age of 20.
He married Elizabeth Maud Orgill, September 19, 1906 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a farmer and rancher in Jensen for many years. He served as a local missionary for the LDS Church and held an office in the Seventies Quorum.
Survivors include his widow and the following sons and daughters, George O., Jr., Springville, Farrel A., Provo, Ira W., Floyd L., Julian A., Valda D., Mrs. Taft (Evelyn) McNaughton, Mrs. DeVere (Golda) Carroll, Vernal, Mrs. Richard (Arthella) Pierson, Mrs. Gordon (Illela) McKinlay, Los Angeles, Mrs. Enoch (Elva) Stewart, Murray, 33 grandchildren, six brothers and four sisters.
