Ronald Jay "Bloomer" Bloomquist, age 65 of Birmingham passed away November 3, 2013 at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

Ronald Jay "Bloomer" Bloomquist was born August 9, 1948 to Max LaVern and Vivian(Wiseman)Bloomquist in Fairfield, Iowa.

Ronald worked for the DOT in Ames and Fairfield, Iowa as a bridge inspector. He has lived in the Fairfield and Birmingham area since 2002.

Ronald is survived by his 3 sons: Brian(Megan Hultman)Bloomquist of Des Moines, Daniel Bloomquist of Des Moines and David Bloomquist of Des Moines, 1 1/2 grandchild: Makinley Bloomquist and another on the way; 2 brothers, Butch(Carla)Bloomquist of Fairfield, IA and Lonnie(Terresa)Bloomquist of Promise City, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister,
Caren Bloomquist.

Per his wishes the body has been cremated. A memorial Service will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Behner Funeral Home & Crematory, Fairfield, IA with Jim Calhoun officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
