Robert Lee Burnett, 61, of Oskaloosa, passed away April 2, 2013, at Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

Robert Lee Burnett was born Jan. 2, 1952, to Herbert and Dorothy Jean Scott Burnett. He married Ann Porter on Oct. 18, 1970, in Fairfield.

Robert has been living in Oskaloosa for the last 15 years with previous residences in the Batavia, Fairfield and Libertyville areas. He was area materials coordinator for Iowa DOT-District 5 Materials. He previously worked for Douds Stone, Inc. in Ottumwa. Robert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oskaloosa and was an active member with the Knights of Columbus. He was also affiliated with the Elks Lodge in Fairfield.

Robert is survived by his wife, Ann Burnett of Oskaloosa; two children, Michael Lee(Shelly)Burnett of Fairfield and Michelle(Michael)Blomme of Newton; his father, Herbert Burnett; six grandchildren, Kaitiyn, Jaron and Jacen Blomme and Derek Robinson, David and Dagan Burnett; one sister and on brother, Marcia(Calvin)Snead of Batavia and Steve(Jill)Burnett of Libertyville.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date. According to his wishes, the body has been cremated. Memorials can be made to American Cancer Society.
