Services for Jerry Duane Sweet, 41, Caldwell, who died Wednesday, June 6, of injuries received in a car-motorcycle accident near Nampa, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Caldwell Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Dale Peterson will officiate. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
He was born March 13, 1943, at Summit City, Calif., to Albert A. and Anita Davenport Sweet. He moved with his parents to Pennsylvania and Oklahoma where he was reared and educated. He married Karla Williams Dec. 16, 1967, in the Manti, Utah, LDS Temple. They came to Burley in 1976 and late to Caldwell in 1978 where they have since resided.
He was an elementary teacher in the Nampa school system. He was a member of the Caldwell Third Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was currently serving in the Sunday school superintendency.
Survivors include his wife Karla, one son, Matthew, and two daughters, Laura, Rebekah, all of Caldwell; two brothers, Bob of Redding, Calif., and Jim of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Ellen of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Doris of Salinas, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
