Steiner, 76, of Columbia died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday in North Monroe Hospital, Monroe.
He graduated from LSU in 1950. He was a retired chemical engineer with Lubrizol in Deer Park, Texas. He was a member of the Texas Professional Engineers Association, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and First United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Beatrice Childress Steiner of Columbia; two sons, Joseph E. Steiner of Baton Rouge and James H. Steiner of Lake Charles; one brother, George Steiner of Van Nyes [sic Van Nuys], Calif.; two sisters, Elizabeth Meyer of Philadelphia, Pa. and Alice Tybe of Reno, Nev.; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Belk, Clayton Childress, Glenn Meredith, Billy Long, Ben Clark and Ruben Lane.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home.
