Judy Elizabeth Smith Kreher was the loving wife of Bob, loving and fun, mother to Andrew & Kelsey, and loving and wonderful sister to Sharen, Jerry and Donel. She was a much loved and silly Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Judy died at home after a long, courageous battle against breast cancer. She showed strength and a positive attitude that amazed us all. I would cry, she would comfort me. That just wasn't right. She would say "It'll be ok, just one more I have to get through." Her goal was to see both her children graduate High School and she not only made that, she watched, as Kelsey went off to college. She was such a proud Mama. Judy passed her love of cards and games onto her kids. They were a close family, spending so much time together around a table filled with laughter and happy times. She was affectionately known as "The Boss."
Judy started dating my brother when we were still in high school. She was a year younger than me and oh, so much fun to be around. There was never a challenge she wouldn't rise to. Life was to enjoy and not be a sissy, except to wear tennis shoes in the ocean. Our families spent many vacations together in Florida at "our" beach house on the Gulf. My daughter would laugh because The Boss had to wear shoes in the water. Lazy, fun, days and nights together in a place we loved. I'll always treasure our vacations and the heart to heart talks we shared.
Judy was smart, along with her fun side, she was a hard worker. She worked as an Administrative Director at the Harry S. Truman Library. She oversaw the remodeling of the Library and worked on every aspect of it. She traveled to Washington DC and many other places in her job. She met with past Presidents and others who came to the Library.
Judy hated the color orange.
I'll add more to Judy's bio at a later date. I wanted to get started for her first birthday in heaven. Happy Birthday Dear Judy. I love you!
