Steve Bruce Burnett
CACHE Funeral for Steve Bruce Burnett, 58, Cache, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Cache First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan Tener officiating.

Mr. Burnett died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, in Cache.

Inurnment with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Sill National Cemetery under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1952, in Nocona, Texas, to Boyd and Christine McGee Burnett. He was raised in Nocona by his aunt and uncle, Lenora and Charlie Burnett. He joined the Army on Jan. 1, 1969, and served two tours in Vietnam. During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Overseas Service Bars. He married Barbara Hammes July 1978. He helped build the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant and worked as a maintenance technician contractor for many years. He enjoyed working in the oil fields as a roughneck and he worked as a security guard. He was a member of the Cache First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; three daughters and their spouses: Mandi Burnett and Tim Merrill, Cache; Lori Graves, Lamar, Colo. and Jerilyn Schleisner, Kansas City, Mo.; a son and daughter-in-law: Jeffrey and Morgan Breisch, Omak, Wash.; seven grandchildren: Krystal, David, Cody, Damian, Jonathan, Carli and Alice; a great-grandson, Christian; a brother, J.B. Burnett and 11 sisters: Linda Eldred, Gayle Storey, Carol, Kay, Linda Gail, Linda Darlene, Delores, Betty, Patricia, Nancy and Sandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an aunt and uncle: Lenora and Charlie Burnett and a son, Steven Harrison.
