He has a sister name Lillian (Jenkins) Deftereos that live in Sacramento,California and her husband Pallo Deftereos.
He Had Twin Brothers that preceded in death in 1916.
He gradutation from Lincoln High School in Lincoln Missouri in 1939.
Then on December 19,1942 in the 3rd Army Medical Corps under Genaral George C. Patton.
As a Technician 7 ,a very admirable rating in the 624th Medical Clearing Company (Separate) 331 Medical Battalion,Third Army,APO,he was a part of the rescue effort for the injured of the 101st patachutes after their famous but fateful drop over Germany held territory with the 624th he was among the first to cross the Rhine River into Germany,crossing on an American-made pontoon bridge.
Bob was awarded three bronze stars for performance above and beyond the call of duty.
It might be of interest that months before his sister Lillian working as the "Girl Friday" for the engineering tool and design department for Alcoa Aluminum Company near Phoenix was a part of the project of designing and building pontoon buridges.
He was Honorably discharged on February 16,1946.
He attended the Missouri Rolla School of Mines.
Eventually he realized that his love of nature and beauty and friends who are associated with it superceded that of any other vacation on his farm near Lincoln Missouri.
He enjoyed his association with many wonderful friends he had a special sense of humor with which he embellished his conversatrion and stories.(More on the Flower and Notes about Bob with picture of music notes.)
