Florence Chandler, 91, of Van Buren went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 19, 2010. She was born on Nov. 19, 1918, in Spadra to Charlie and Nora Bell Edgar.
She married Hoyt Chandler on March 20, 1936. Together they had 10 children. Florence was a homemaker and spent many days in the cotton fields. Florence knew no strangers — she was loving, king and would do anything for anyone. So many called her mama, and many more knew her as grandma. She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt and four children.
She is survived by four daughters, Patricia Steelman and husband Bobby of Bella Vista, Betty Willis of Alma, Wanda Parker and husband Laymon of Mulberry and Rubette Reese and husband John of Lebanon, Mo.; two sons, Roger Chandler of Mulberry and Ricky Chandler and wife Sue of Mulberry; one sister, Emma Mooney of Carthage, Miss.; 35 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Monday, February 22, 2010 at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel of Alma with burial at Spadra Cemetery in Spadra.
