Mr John A Johnson, 87
EUREKA - John A. Johnson, 87, of 700 N. Main St., Eureka, a lifelong farmer, died at 12:50 a.m. yesterday (May 30, 1991) at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Eureka.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Roanoke, the Rev. Kent Umbarger officiating. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour before the service at the church. Remmert Funeral Home, Roanoke, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson was born March 23, 1904, in Eureka, a son of John and Magretha Wilts Johnson. He married Odelia Rippel Dec. 4, 1932, in Secor. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ronald, Eureka; Dr. Roger, Encinatas, Calif.; and Rodney, Secor; one daughter, Sharon Birkenbeil, Chatsworth; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters. Mr. Johnson farmed in the Secor, Roanoke and Eureka areas.
He was a member of Woodford County Farm Bureau, Flying Farmers of America and Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke, where he was past elder.
Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor's choice.
