Matthew is the son of John Harold Padgett, Sr. and Ann Warren Padgett. He went to school in Pearl River, LA. He was a fun-loving, always smiling, young man who loved life with a great passion. Matt loved his sweet wife, Sinea and his children, but Matt's heart was truly beating when he was on a 345 CAT Trackhoe or any other piece of equipment. He was of the Protestant faith, a member of the Jamestown YMCA and loved weight lifting.
Hammer worked at D.H.Griffin Wrecking in Greensboro. They will never be able to replace such a loyal employee. His brother in-law was also his boss and friend and knew that Matt was the cream of the crop.
Matt was preceded in death by his wife, Sinea Shree Padgett, who died May 15, 2006.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Hunter Flippin, 8 and John Matthew Padgett, II, 5; parents, John Harold Padgett, Sr. and Ann B. Padgett; brothers, John H. Padgett, Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Conover and Stanley Padgett, Sr. and wife Heidi of Mt. Herman, LA and Charles Rankin; sisters, Sandra Loftin and husband Gerald of Conover, Carol Boyd of Chapel Hill, Nina Ashley and husband Robert of Cisco, TX and Donna Griffin and husband David of Jamestown and many nieces and nephews who loved him so very much.
Matt will be gone from this earth, but his presence is felt, warming our hearts, minds and souls.
