Larry L. Moser, age 60, went to be with his Lord after a year long battle with cancer on December 8, 2005, at his home in St. Joseph, Mo.

Larry was born on November 21, 1945, in Omaha, Neb., to Mary and Lowell Moser whom precede him in death.

The family came to St. Joseph in 1949. Larry grew up in Wesley United Methodist Church. He attended Neely Elementary School through fourth grade. The family then moved to Halls, Mo., and he graduated from the DeKalb High School in 1964. He received the varsity track letter.

He attended one year at the St Joseph Junior College and then joined the 139th Air National Guard in St. Joseph in 1965. He became a medical technician with the guard and served until 1972.

He married Susanne Ussary on July 10, 1966, at the Agency Christian Church. On July 30, 1969, they welcomed their son Chad Michael Moser or St. Joseph. They later divorced.

He married Lisa Painter in 1998 and she survives of the home.

Larry was a committed Christian and was an active member of the Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. He was a 3rd degree master Mason.

He lived to make others happy. One of his favorite ways to do that was by playing Santa Claus at Christmas time for children. He had many friends and was well loved by all his family and will be greatly missed.

He became an insurance agent in 1967, he also had worked for Montgomery Ward, Bob Fay's TV and Appliances, E.B.E. business machines, S.C. Johnson and Sons Company, St. Joseph Toyota Jeep Eagle, and for the past 15 years he owned and operated an Allstate Insurance Agency business.

He is also survived by step-sons, Anthony and Christopher Goodale; step-daughter, Megan Goodale; brothers, Richard Moser and wife Twyla of Weston, Mo., John Moser and wife Sarah of St. Joseph, Billy West and wife Patti of St. Joseph; and sister, Debbie West of Sedalia, Mo.; an uncle, Jack Blackwell in Washington State; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joseph. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Rev. Greg Butchart officiating. The interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.
