Funeral services for Jorgen B. Jorgensen, 60, were held Monday afternoon, Sept. 16, at 1:30 at the home and at two o'clock from the Diamond Lake Church. Rev. Calvin Rossman officiated and Mrs. Rossman sang "Old Rugged Cross" at the home. The choir sang "Not Now But in the Coming Years," and the congregation joined in singing "Beautiful Saviour' and "Our Father Has Light in His Window" with Bessie Johansen at the piano. Interment was in Diamond Lake cemetery.
Pallbearers were Johan Krog, Art Hanson, Holm Petersen, Knute Petersen, Nels Jorgensen and Robert Gylling. The beautiful flowers and many memorial gifts expressed the love of many friends and relatives.
Jorgen B. Jorgensen was born at Orby, Samso, Denmark Oct. 1, 1896, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the time of his death, he had attained the age of 60 years, 11 months, and 12 days.
Mr. Jorgensen came to America in April, 1914. On March 3, 1920 he was united in marriage to Christine Tambo. To this union, two daughters were born, Audrey (Mrs. Earl Bedsted) of Fresno, Calif., and Millicent (Mrs.
Merle Hanson) of Canby.
After their marriage, Jorgen and Christine moved to their farm in Drammen twp. where they were still making their home.
Mr. Jorgensen passed away at Hendricks hospital Sept 12, where he suffered for three months after a long illness. His faithful wife was constantly at his bedside. His daughter, Audrey, came from California and spent a month
with her family. The many trips to the hospital by his his loved ones, relatives and friends again expressed the love all had for Jorgen.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Christine, two daughters, Audrey and Millicent, two sons-in-law, Earl Bedsted and Merle Hanson, and four grandchildren, Conrad and Neal Bedsted and Diane and Brian Hanson; also two
sisters in Denmark; two half brothers, Ole of Clinton, Ia., and Iver of Lake Benton, and many other relatives and friends.
Those from away attending the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jorgensen of Clinton, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Mitchell, Mrs. Robt. Shepherd and Ed Mitchell Jr. of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Jens Frier of St. Paul; Mr. and
Mrs. Pete Jensen and Mrs. Kristine Bertelsen, Fairmount, N. D; Aage Hanson, N. C. Jensen of Morgan; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Dosdall, Hancock; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Helgeson, Taunton; Mr. and Mrs. Svend Gerlach, Russell; and Mr. and
Mrs. Ansgar Sinding, Ruthton.
A precious one from us has gone
A voice we loved is stilled;
A place is vacant in our home
Which never can be filled.
God is His Wisdom has recalled
The boon His love had given,
And though the body slumbers here
The soul is safe in Heaven.
