Survivors include his wife; Glenna Johnson of LaOtto; one daughter; Teresa Kruger of Columbia City; four stepsons, Gary and Lisa Long of Kendallville, Kenneth and Cathy Long of Kendallville, Adis Long of Watervelet, Michigan, and Shawn R. Long of South Bend; one stepdaughter, Terri Long of Auburn; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill and Nancy Smith of Fort Wayne and Danny Johnson of Fort Wayne; and one sister, Nancy Wheeler of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Wayne Guillion from the Waynedale Baptist Church. Burial will be at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett. Preferred memorials may be made to Indiana State Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3500 DePauw Blvd., Indianapolis, IN 46268.
