Obit - Elizabeth Thaut, was a licenced practical nurse at Deaconess Hospital in Wenatchee, WA, until 1971, when she returned to Billings with her husband, Carl Thaut. Born in Dittle, Russia, she was a daughter of Mr & Mrs John Yerger, who moved to Lincoln, Neb, when she was an infant and the next year to the Billings area. In 1926 she was married Carl in Laurel. They moved to Washington in 1951.
Survivors include her husband; 3 sons; 3 daughters; 2 brothers, George of 1745 Janie St and Henry of 706 Ave F; 3 sisters, Mrs Clinton Young of Marysville, WA; Mrs. Milton Hodges of Garland, Utah and Mrs. Albert Hust of Townsend; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
After raising all her children Elizabeth, in her 50's, went back to school and received her practical nursing degree in Bellingham, Washington. It was quite a feat as she hadn't gone farther than the 8th grade when she was growing up. When she was in her 60's she took swimming lessons and learned to swim.
