Joe E. Green, 39 years old, Rural Route 1, Cambridge City, died February 5, following an extended illness at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis.
Joe was a disabled veteran of World War II, Indiana, Sgt. Co. B. 249, Engr. Combat Bn. Joe passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Indianapolis.
Member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and Lawrence H. Bertsch Post No. 169, American Legion.
Survivors include his widow, Irma M, his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Green of Cambridge City; one stepson Dieter Marker of Cambridge City; one stepdaugher Mrs. Inga Rothmeier of Furth, Germany; two brothers John R. or Richmond and William H. of Indianapolis, four step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Requiem high mass for Mr. Green was held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Rev. John Herold officiating.
The rosary was recited Sunda at 8 p.m. at Fisher Mortuary. Military graveside services were held by the Lawrence H. Bertsch Post No. 169.
Fisher Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements and burial was in Riverside Cemetery.
