John Henry Kelsey, age 84, of Cambridge City, Indiana passed away September 11, 2004 at Reid Hospital and Health Care in Richmond, Indiana.
John was born on August 29, 1920 in Cambridge City, Indiana and had lived his entire life there. He was the son of Thomas H. and Marcia B. Kelsey. He was a life resident of Cambridge City and he graduated from Lincoln High School of Cambridge City.
John Henry served during World War II. S. Sgt., U. S. Army Air Corps.
He had been employed at New Castle Gas and Light Company and retired as a Postal employee for the U. S. Post Office. He was a life long member of the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge City, Indiana. He was Chairman on the Riverside Cemetery Board and a former member of the Cambridge City Town Board.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Mercer Kelsey of Cambridge City, a son, Thomas J. (Rhonda) Kelsey of Cambridge City; two daughters, Judith Ann (Michael) Meyer of Columbus, Indiana, and Beverly (John R) Copeland of Covington, Georgia; five grandchildren, Leigh Anne Higgins, Hillary Elaine Burbrink, Sarah Elizabeth Meyer, Laura Elizabeth Turner and Stephanie Sue Kelsey; two great grandchildren, William Lucus Higgins and Sydney Elizabeth Higgins.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Michael Kelsey and a brother, Thomas Henry Kelsey.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at the Waskom Capital Hill Chapel with Pastor Curtis Bond officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Curtis Bond officiating.
