Mrs. Agan's name stands high among those who did much to alleviate suffering during the first influenza epidemic. She was particularly interested in children, and took many of them into her home while their mothers were ill in the influenza emergency hospital in the Millikin homestead. In speaking of her work in this connection, A. H. Cope, who worked in close co-operation with Commissioner Mattes at that time, said, "She is a woman before whose home I always remove my hat."
