Steven Ray Eastis, age 46 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Friday, May 11th, 2012.

Steven was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He worked for the Kingsport Press for 14 years and at various other places. He loved NASCAR and was an avid University of Tennessee Volunteer fan.

Mr. Eastis was preceded in death by his father, Johnny N. Ramey; biological father, Buddy Eastis; and maternal grandparents, Claude and Helen Mays.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kelsi Renee Eastis of Nickelsville, VA; mother, Linda Ramey of Kingsport, TN; sisters, Rhonda Miner of Kingsport, TN and Hope Schaftlein and husband Rick of Gray, TN; brother, Allen Ramey and wife Deb of Greeneville, TN; special great-aunt and aunt, Alice Spivey and Janet Tomlinson; nephews, Daniel Miner and Zach and Noah Schaftlein; niece, Victoria Ramey; and special friends, Paul Mays and Mark Harrell.

The family will receive friends in the J. Wayne Hamilton Memorial Chapel at Oak Hill Funeral Home on Monday, May 14th, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jim Mullins of Lone Star Baptist Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Second Harvest Food Bank, 127 Dillon Court, Gray, TN 37615.

The staff of Oak Hill Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations is honored to serve the family of Steven Ray Eastis.
