Ethylene Bradley Collins
July 20, 1927 - July 24, 2021

Ethylene Bradley Collins of Bells, Texas passed July 24, 2021 at her home in Bells at the age of 94 with her caretaker and granddaughter Kimberley Jaynes at her side.

She was born July 20, 1927 in Weston, Collin County Texas. She was the fifth child of Forrest Lee and Nannie Pearl "Jones" Bradley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bells. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. She always made it to her grandchild and great great grandchildren's games. She was the oldest fan at the 2017 regional baseball game for 10U, and she received the same trophy as the winning team for being the oldest fan. Deven Giles baseball team won Regional and State that year.

She spent her early years with a loving family. Her father was hardworking and her mother was very resourceful. She said that during the Great Depression they were hardly aware of it because of her exceptional parents. She graduated from Westminster High School and married Ottie Steve Collins in McKinney, Texas on September 9, 1946, the number one year for marriages in the history of the United States. They moved to Panama City, Florida, where Steve was stationed with the United States Air Force. They were together 70 years at his death, age 96 in 2016; he was buried on their 70th wedding anniversary.

They moved frequently, after Florida they served in Anchorage, Alaska; Jackson, Mississippi; Perrin AFB, Denison, Texas; Enid, Oklahoma; Orlando, Florida; Clark AFB, Philippine Islands; Gray Air Force Base (with Elvis Presley next-door at Ft. Hood, Texas); and Whiteman Air Force Base at Knob Noster, Missouri.

While in the Philippines, the Filipino president was killed in an explosion and crash of a plane given to him by U.S. President Eisenhower.

Ethylene had several weeks of tension. Uncertain if her family would be evacuated to safety or staying on at Clark AFB. At Whiteman AFB, they lived two blocks from missile silos as the Cuban Missile crisis unfolded.

She was a stay-at-home mom to Lynda June and Edward Steve Collins. Ethylene was a member of the Ector Friendship Club which was dear to her heart. She was also a member of the Westminster All School Reunion.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Ladell Welch and husband, Arthur; Oleta Morris and husband, John C.; Leota Giles and husband, Billy Ray; brother, Weldon Bradley and wife, Frances; adopted brother Jerry Glen Nichols. She was also preceded in death by son-in-law, Roy Jaynes and grandson John Travis Jaynes.

Ethylene is survived by daughter, Lynda June Jaynes of Bells; son, Edward Steve Collins and wife Jackie Morris of Denison; granddaughter, Kimberley Dawn Jaynes of Savoy and her daughter, Monica Robinson Owens of San Saba; granddaughter, Rhonda Lei Ann Jaynes and son, Dalton Withrow of Denison; grandson, Bradley Collins and wife Michelle Gaines and children Mallory and Phoebe Collins of Alaska; grandson, Chance Collins and wife April Brown and children Kyann, Kinley, and Kole Collins of Wills Point, Texas; great great grandsons, children of Monica, Dakota Shane Robinson of Bells and Deven Kane Giles of Sherman; and sister in law Carolyn Nichols of Fairfield.
