ASTOR, FLA. - Bridgett S. (Giordano) Bray, 68, of Astor, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on the morning of Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the Halifax Hospice Center in Port Orange, Florida. Bridgett was born in Meriden, Conn., March 5, 1946, the daughter of Dominic and Nadine (Briggs) Giordano.

Bridgett spent the majority of her life in Central Maine, where she and her husband (Gerald "Wayne" Bray) raised their four children before leaving the harsh Maine winters and moving to the warmer weather of Florida in 1995. Bridgett was a retired paralegal and loved the law, although, her true joy was her family. Bridgett was happiest when she was researching her family history, spending time with her children and grandchildren or playing with her two beloved dogs, Teddy and Abby.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne of 48 years. She is also survived by her four children: son, Cleyton Bray (wife Amelia) of Christmas, FL; daughters: Stacy Nugent (husband John) of Ormond Beach, FL; Jennifer Pease (companion Joseph Verrechio) of Palm Coast, FL; and Erin Bray (companion Timothy Westran) of Charlotte, NC. Bridgett will be missed by her eight grandchildren. Bridgett is also survived by her sisters, Sherill Hayden, Roxanne Ladabouche, Marcia Harrington, Cynthia Bayerdorffer and Nina Brawn and her brother Dominic Giordano. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Sandra Russell and brothers, Mark and Justin Giordano.

Although, per Bridgett's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial at this time, family and friends will gather at a later date in remembrance. Although words can't express the loss the family feels, they are comforted knowing that she is at peace. As Bridgett often said, "Love, Luck and Lollipops!" In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation be made in her name to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
