Kimberly Renee Cook, 33, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born March 3, 1978 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of Margaret Kates Bostian and husband Mike of Salisbury and Aaron Cook and wife Lisa of Valdese.
Educated in Rowan County schools, she was a graduate of Catawba College. She worked in a home cleaning business.
Preceding her in death were maternal grandmother Janette Kates; and paternal grandmother Mickey Cook.
Survivors include her fiancé Eric Matthew Sides; her former husband Mark Hester; daughters, Meredith "Claire" Hester and Emily Grace Hester, both of the home; step-daughter Jessica Hester of Granite Quarry; brothers, Justin Kates (Cindy) of Charlotte, Josh Cook, Christopher Cook, Adam Cook (Jessie), and Ben Kates, all of Salisbury. Also surviving are her half-sister Kaitlyn Cook; half-brother Matthew Cook of Valdese; maternal grandfather Richard Kates of Salisbury; paternal grandfather A.V. Cook (Viola) of Morganton; numerous nieces, nephews, and many cousins.
