West Bend News and Hartford Times Press, Nov. 22, 1988. Roman V. Baus, 82, of Hartford, died Sunday, Nov. 20, at 520 Sixth St., Hartford, the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Baus. He was born Feb. 23, 1906, in St. Cloud, Wis., and married Frances Vollrath Sept. 1, 1932, in Wahpeton, N.D. She passed away Jan. 4, 1980. He came to Hartford in 1934, where he owned and operated the Baus Food Mart for many years. He was a member of the Oshkosh Council Knights of Columbus, the Holy Name Society and was a past director of the Hartford Memorial Hospital. Survivors two sons, Norman (Josephine) of Rubicon, and Robert (Patricia) of Hartford; one daughter, Mrs. Rosemary (Franklin) Brown of West Bend, 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers John (Mary) of St. Cloud and Joseph (Anne) of Milwaukee; two sisters, Irene Young of Milwaukee and Florence Johnson of Fond du Lac; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Griggs of California, and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 23, at 8:45 p.m. from the Matenaer-Schramka Funeral Home, Hartford, to St. Kilian’s Church, for Mass of Christian Burial at 9 p.m. Rev. Eugene Neuman will officiate, and burial will be in the church cemetery Thursday morning. Visitation at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of services.
