Oliver Clarence Perry, 86, of Vermilion, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph after a short illness.

Born October 28, 1924 in Barren Fork, KY he has been a Vermilion resident for the past 47 years moving from Medina.

He was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII.

Oliver worked as an electrician for Ford Motor Co., Lorain for 30 years retiring in 1993.

He had been a member of the Vermilion Church of God and the UAW#425. Oliver enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and mowing.

Survivors include his son, Rev. Bruce (Kay) Perry of Fremont; 2 daughters, Debra (Paul) Prete of Sandusky and Donna Haller of Vermilion; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. .

He was preceded in death by his wife, Trula Joyce Perry in 1999; parents, Luther and Amanda (nee Bryant) Perry; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 4-8 pm at the Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South Street Vermilion Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at 10:00 am at the First Assembly of God, 4931 Southview Ct. Vermilion. The Reverend Bruce Perry will officiate. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Vermilion where the Vermilion Veterans Council will conduct military honors.
