Elizabeth was a member of the Utah House of Representatives, the Utah Senate, a member of the National Democratic Committee and one of the first women to be a delegate. She was a charter member of the League of Women Voters. She introduced the constitutional amendment for women's suffrage. She was President of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers from 1917 to 1921. They had 9 children.
