Doyle C. "Sonny" Garlow Jr., 62, of Barrackville, passed away Sunday (Nov. 15, 2009) at Pierpont Center at Fairmont Campus.He was born on Feb. 6, 1947, in Fairmont, a son of the late Doyle C.and Genevieve Renner Garlow Sr.Doyle worked at Sauro's Car Wash, the Seventh Street Exxon and the Board of Education at East Side High School. He attended Victory Baptist Church. Doyle was in the Fairmont CB Club, having gone by the handle "Black Jack." He especially enjoyed fishing and traveling and spending time at his camp at Big Bear Lake. Doyle was a member of the Barrackville Volunteer Fire Department. He loved his two cats, Midnight and Ivan.He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Betty Lou Huff Garlow; his uncle, Frank Lencek of Fairmont; his cousins, Carol Jean Harris and her husband William of Fairmont and Vera Jean Lee and her husband Bobby of Virginia; his great-niece, Sarah Clifton, who lives with the family; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Ann Wolfe; and his aunts, Marie Falkenstine, Flossie Crayton, Bessie Kersey, Katherine Shaver and Mary Jo Lencek.Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bob Barker officiating. In keeping with the wishes of the deceased, his body will be cremated after the service. Burial will follow at a later date at Bethesda Baptist Cemetery at Barrackville.
