BENDICKSON, GERALD LEE, Gerald Lee died at the age of 85 years on December 14, 1999, in San Diego. He had practiced law in Chula Vista for 45 years, retiring in 1994. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and California Western School of Law. Mr. Bendickson was born in Minnesota and had lived in the San Diego area since 1942. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 1999, at South Bay Baptist Church, 960 Fifth Avenue, Chula Vista.

Interment will be private at Glen Abbey Memorial Park. Cause of death was heart failure. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mildred, two daughters, Norma Howard of Chula Vista and Barbara Acosta of Bonita, and a son, John Bendickson of Laguna Niguel. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He was a member of South Bay Baptist Church of Chula Vista, where he had served as moderator, deacon, adult Sunday School Teacher for 20 years, and was active in the music program. Mr. Bendickson had been a member of the governing boards of Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, San Diego County Bar Association, Legal Aid Society of San Diego, Campfire Girls of San Diego County, American Baptist Churches of Pacific Southwest, San Diego Baptist Association and the Advisory Board of Salvation Army Chula Vista Corps where he had served since 1971 and was a past chairman. He served on the Chula Vista City Planning Commission, as president of the South Bay Bar Association and served two terms on the Curriculum Committee of the Sweetwater Union High School District. He was given the Navy League award for service to the South Bay and served in the Navy in World War II. He had been a member of the Chula Vista Kiwanis Club for over 45 years and a past president of the Club.
