Albert, 92, Spencerville, died at 7:45 p.m., following a short illness in Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, where he had resided since Oct. 6, 2009.
He was the son of Marion B. and Goldie (Redd) Heidlebaugh. On Jun 20, 1943, he married Dorothy K. Baxter, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are a son, Norman C. (Sondra), Spencerville; three daughters, Linda J. (Edward) Yahl, St. Marys, Susan K. Heidlebaugh, Cambridge, Karen S. (Greg) Schwark, Spencerville; seven grandchildren, Gregory D. (Sunny) Heidlebaugh, Maumee, Kevin C. Heidlebaugh and Melissa B. Heidlebaugh, both Spencerville, Heidi L. Yahl of Spencerville, Ryan E. (Brandy) Yahl and Jeffrey W. Yahl, both St. Marys, Cory D. Schwark Spencerville; a stepgranddaughter, Heather J. Hastings, Wapakoneta; five great-grandchildren, Caleb and Deborah Yahl, and Andrew Robinson, all Spencerville, Hayden Heidlebaugh and Saylore Heidlebaugh, both Maumee; a stepgreat-granddaughter, Sierra Hastings, Wapakoneta; a sister, Alma (Melvin) Kloeppel, Delphos.
Deceased are a brother, William; and two sisters, Breta Buckles and Audrey Suever.
He attended the one room schools and Delphos Jefferson High School. He was a lifelong farmer and took advantage of the new farm machinery as it was invented. He worked with area farmers by custom combining and hay bailing in the 1930s and the threshing ring days. He was a long time member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Spencerville and also the Spencerville Grange 2424 and the Farmers Union. He loved camping, becoming "Wagon Master" for the United Methodist Campers Association. He enjoyed playing his violin and entertain family and small parties.
Funeral services are scheduled to be held at Trinity United Methodist Church, in Spencerville, with the Rev. Jan Johnson officiating.
