Virgil O'Neil "Neil" Bordwine was born September 12, 1938 in Oklahoma City to Virgil and Elva (Thornton) Bordwine. He went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2014 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 75.
Neil accepted the Lord as his savior as a young boy. He graduated High School in 1957 at Lookeba, OK. He joined the Army Reserve in 1956 and served for 8 years. He married Arleen Farr, his high school sweetheart on Feb. 28, 1957 and they shared 57 memorable years together. To this union was born one daughter, Diana Ledford. Neil lived in the Binger area most of his life where he was a carpenter for many years. He loved to raise watermelons and vegetables. In his younger days Neil loved to go coyote hunting with his dad. His pride and joy was his grandkids who thought he was the best papa and his two grandsons JJ and Zack were the sons he never had.
He loved to go camping and fishing and watch the kids drive the lawn mowers and help him work on tractors. Neil also loved to go to the Thursday morning junk sales at Anadarko. He was the best at trading and making a deal. Neil loved to watch Jeopardy and cheer on the Thunder Team. He worked hard all his life to make sure his family was provided for. We know he will be forever fishing, working on tractors and eating those ripe tomatoes in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Elva Bordwine; one sister, Regina Prince; and father-in-law, Bud Farr.
Survivors include his wife, Arleen of the home; one daughter, Diana Ledford and her husband Michael of Hinton, OK; two grandsons, Zack Lange and his girlfriend Kristen and JJ Lange and his wife Brooke all of Binger, OK; two granddaughters, Savanna Morris and her husband Jared of Binger, OK, and Noelani Ledford of Hinton, OK; three great grandchildren, Novalee Lange of Wellston, OK, Wyatt Lange and Hesston Morris of Binger, OK; three sisters, Lavonna DeVaughan of Binger, Treva Gregory and her husband Leroy of Binger, and Twila Hart of Hydro; mother-in-law, Alliene Farr of Binger, and a host of other friends and relatives.
