Mr. Evans was born in Utica, married Beatrice Rohm Griffith in 1970. He retired from Mohawk Containers in 1975. An Army veteran of WWII, Mr. Evans was a member of the American Legion and Plymouth Bethesda Church.
Besides his wife, he leaves six step daughters, Mrs. Richard (Susan) Jones of Glen Burnie, Md., Mrs. (Nancy) Gordon Knepka and Mrs. William (Wendy) Bowers, both of Utica, Mrs. John (Sally) Reisenberger, Oriskany, Mrs. Raymond (Candice) Saddler, Highland, N.Y., and Mrs. David (Marilou) Wilkinson, New Hartford; Three stepsons, William Griffith, of Fort Meyers, Fl., Jack L. Griffith, San Francisco, Calif., and Gary G. Griffith of Utica; and three brothers, Ralph of Syracuse. Lauren of Clifton Park, and Kenneth of Whitesboro.
The funeral will be at 3 Monday from J. W. Dimblely Funeral Home, Whitesboro. Burial will be in New Forest Cemetery, Utica. Utica Observer Dispatch, September 1976
