North Carolina, USA

Parents: Rigdon and Elizabeth (Jackson) HEATH.

Jeremiah was a prominent surveyor in the early formation of the area, to which land records attest; also, he was a Free Will Baptist (FWB) minister. He organized the Core Creek FWB Church, and also pastored the FWB church at New Bern, NC, and probably others.

Rev. Jeremiah HEATH's name is found among historical records with early FWB minister's names who contended for, and remained influential in sustaining the Orig. Free Will Baptist church in its early formation and growth, especially the old Bethel Conference, when it could have been merged.
He raised several children who became worthy citizens. Rev. Jesse Heath's name is known as a prominent leader in the area.
(Family papers are held in Joyner Library, East Carolina University, Greenville, N.C. --Index is online)
Among the articles are "Minutes of the N.C. Original Free Will Baptist General Conference," Pitt County (1864). This gives the names and churches of delegates, names of ministers, and statistics for the different churches.
