Homemaker and former Henry County Healthcare Center employee Melva A. Clark, 83, of Paris died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Henry County Medical Center.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Johnny Farmer will officiate. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday.

A daughter of the late Walter and Betty Steverson Tyler, she was born March 29, 1926, in Puryear.

She was married on March 5, 1946, to Woodard Marshall "Woody" Clark, who died July 12, 2009.

Clark was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was an avid square dancer, according to a family member.

She leaves three sons: Ray (Judy) Clark, Gary (Diana) Clark and Danny (Carol) Clark, all of Paris; one sister: Imagene Steele of Paris; a sister-in-law: Loetta Tyler of Independence, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter: Janice Carol Clark; two sisters: Lucille Sayre and Lubie Ross; and four brothers: Lexie, Clete, Bill and Harlan Tyler.
