Killed in action at Braunlauf, Belgium during the advance on the Siegfried Line, Staff Sgt. Brancaglione attended the Webster and McKinley Schools and graduated from Collinsville Township High School in 1940. Before he enlisted in the Army he was employed as a bricklayer for his father.
Brancaglione was sworn into service in October,1942, and trained at Camp Polk, Louisiana. He left for England with an armored engineers unit in September,1944, later making the crossing into France and Belgium.
Besides his parents, Sgt. Brancaglione is survived by a brother, Marine Sgt. John Brancaglione, stationed at Portsmouth, Virginia.
