CAVANAUGH, LORETTA M.

Of Allegan, died Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Ely Manor Nursing Home. Loretta was born January 30, 1920, in Three Rivers, the daughter of Clyde and Emma (White) Dimmick. She graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1939, she worked for A&P Grocery store for 28 years, retiring in 1975. Loretta had a heart for people, she volunteered countless hours, at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member since 1983, and at Allegan General Hospital for over 40 years. She was a member of the Hopkins VFW Aux., Allegan General Hospital Service League, and worked in the Agriculture Barn at the Allegan County Fair for many years. Surviving are her son, Donald and Sandra Gilchrist of Allegan, two grandchildren; Angela Worden, and Kevin and Stacie Gilchrist, three great grandchildren; Jacob, Emilie and Ashlie, one niece, one nephew, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Gene Gilchrist and Barney Cavanaugh. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday, June 21, from 6-8 pm at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel, www.gordenfuneral.com, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 am. Pastor Dean Beckwith will officiate. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Watson Twp. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Allegan General Hospital, or the Allegan County Fair Scholarship Fund.
