Joseph J. "Midge" Iosco passed away peacefully at the age of 85 in the tranquility of his own home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Alma M. (nee Trobiani) for a loving 27 years and the late Marie (nee Marnell). Devoted father of Sandra A. (the late Gary) Lewandowski, Joseph P. (Michelle A.), Loriann (Tony "Tank") Darmstadt. Loving son of the late Anthony F. and the late Bertha (nee Satzke) Iosco. Fond grandfather of Mitchell, Lauren and Kurt, Joseph N., Nick, Chris, Briana and Ashley, Gianna (Robert) and Nina Rose. Great-grandfather to Lauren, Mikayla and Arianna. Dear brother of Anthony (Marie) and Vito "Buddy" (Ida). Dear brother-in-law to many. Dear uncle and great-uncle to many. Dear cousin to many and dear friend to all.
Midge served as the Dist. 89 School Board President and Village of Melrose Park Clerk. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears and contracted to play in 1951. "Midge" was inducted into the Dakota State University Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
Funeral Thursday, Oct. 3rd, 2013, 9:00 a.m. Family and friends are to gather at Russo's Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Rd., Hillside, Ill. (between Mannheim and Wolf Rd.) to The Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1101 N. 23rd Ave., Melrose Park, Ill. Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, 3-9 p.m.
